Nova Vulgata

The Nova Vulgata is the official Bible of the Latin Rite. It was released in 1979 under the commission of Pope John Paul II.  This particular edition of the Vulgate differs from the previous versions of the Vulgate. It uses manuscripts that were found in the 1800s that were deemed orginial  text. This does not contain some of the books that wer contained in earlier editions of the Vulgate such as the Prayer of Manasses and 3rd and 4th Esdras.
