St. Peter

St. Peter was born Simon in A.D. 1. He was an apostle of Jesus Christ and would later become the first Pope of the Catholic Church. Peter was first a fisherman before he was chosen by Christ to follow him. St. Peter had so much trust and faith in Jesus that he was renamed Peter from Simon and that he recognized that Jesus was the Messiah. St. Peter was also given the keys of the kingdom as according to Matthew 16. St. Peter was martryed by crucifixion. He was cricified head down and buried under what is now known as St. Peter’s Basillica (New St. Peter’s Basillica) under the current alter. This was discoverd during the twentifth century
